Project description:
You will join a small and growing team of engineers who constantly improve the group's bigdata platform containing Machine Learning and Data Science capabilities by providing a performant and observable platform supporting the entire analytics lifecycle, from development to production. The ideal engineer has a drive for constant improvement of both themselves and the systems that they build, manage, and support. While they may not have previous experience with Bigdata and, they are able to leverage their existing knowledge of AWS as they learn and work alongside the engineers and scientists that they support.
Technology:
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in production use cases.
Experience with Linux, comfortable with Amazon Linux 2 based systems.
Development experience with programming or scripting languages like Python, etc.
Experience with automation tools, including Cloudformation, AWS CDK.
Experience with various Data Science tools and/or platforms, such as Athena, Jupyter Notebooks, Anaconda, Apache Spark, AWS Glue, and AWS EMR.
Personal:

Understanding of agile project management and execution.
Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education.
Experience with developing and maintaining design documentation in confluence.

English written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Deploying, building, and configuring deployment methods for Amazon Web Services, especially utilizing the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
Write scripts and automation using Python, or Typescript.
Constantly improve service quality, security, and performance.
Participation in agile projects, writing user stories, and create a backlog.
Collaborate with peers and user team members
Make sure we deliver high quality, scalable and cost efficient solutions
Must have:
AWS architecture, services and products
CDK
Apache Airflow / AWS MWAA
API Gateway
DynamoDB/Casandra etc databases
Prometheus / Grafana
CICD / GitLab / Vault
Kafka / MSK
Nice to have:
Bigdata skills like spark / Spark streaming
Projen
Cloud / platform security
